Sammi graduated from the College of Food, Agriculture and Natural Resource Sciences, earning her Bachelor's of Science in Agriculture & Food Business Management. In the joint undergraduate program with the Carlson School of Management, she selected Finance as an emphasis and also went on to earn a minor in Marketing. 

Throughout her four years on campus, Sammi had the opportunity to further develop her skills and experience through internships and University led leadership opportunities. 

Sammi was a key member of the National Grocers Association Marketing Case Competition team, sponsored by the University of Minnesota Food Industry Center, where she led the team to nationals in 2015 and 2016. She was also involved in a variety of clubs on campus, where her highlights including serving as the Co-Chair of the Applied Economics Club and the Communications Chair of Project Food Security. 

Sammi was fortunate to have multiple internships, beginning with an Agronomy Sales internship with Cargill where she furthered her knowledge of the industry, gained her first real world work experience and was inspired by the passion and work-ethic of producers across the Upper Midwest. Following her coursework in Commodity Marketing and Futures & Options, she landed an internship with CHS Risk Management. It was this role where she realized her interest in the commodity markets and used her 2 years on the team to see her classroom learnings in the real world. Lastly, she went on to Land O'Lakes where she spent her final summer as a sourcing intern working on raw material forecasting for the Purina Feed Division. 



C O R N E L L   U N I V E R S I T Y 

In 2020, Sammi had the chance to further her education sponsored by her employer. She completed the Data Analytics 360 Certificate offered through eCornell. Throughout her 5-course, 19-week program she expanded her analytical capabilities and learned new ways of using data to enhance strategic decision making. She found applicable learnings from 'Modeling Uncertainty and Risk' and 'Optimization and Modeling Simultaneous Decisions' where she was able to immediately add value to her role in Commodity Market Analysis and Federal Milk Marketing Order forecasting.
